MONET´S GARDEN
A place to enjoy, to play and to learn about the insights of the Impressionists.

Monet, the founder of Impressionism, considered his garden at Giverny as—in his own words—his “most beautiful masterpiece.” Monet's Garden is a recreation of the Giverny landscape that physically and poetically surrounds the viewer.

We have brought this fabulous place to life through the famous water lily pond, the iconic Japanese bridge, the house, and his studio, creating the perfect setting for a series of interactive and visual installations. These installations allow people to discover, experience, admire, and understand the Impressionist technique and its main interests: light, color, and brushstroke.

LIGHT
Light is the subject. Monet persistently experimented with lighting, striving to capture and express light at a given moment, without focusing on the identity of the model.

Claude Monet painted the same subject in varying environments to demonstrate how changes in light can affect color. Through projections, we replicate the large format of Monet's canvases, giving the audience the opportunity to experience how forms are diluted, mixed, or separated inaccurately depending on the light they are subjected to.

COLOR
The use of pure and saturated colors with a reduced palette achieves a rich chromatic contrast by juxtaposing, rather than blending, colors.

The relationship between music and color has been studied and applied in various ways, often associating the frequencies of sound with those of light. In this installation, we have linked all complementary colors seen in the picture with Debussy’s "Clair de Lune," relying on its tonal key and how the notes are related in the harmonic series. In music, the harmonic series is the relationship between notes and their sequence of frequencies. The color pink is placed at the center of the painting, playing the same role as the key center of the musical piece. Hence, the notes from the melody will illuminate the colors based on these principles.

BRUSH STROKE
A determined brushwork. Fragmented strokes of pure colors result in a vibrant whole that depicts the spontaneous nature of Impressionist work.
