Visualizing Global Happiness in Real Time
The traditional Madrid lighting store, Oliva, commissioned us for its Christmas window display, and we decided to turn it into an original light installation in which everyone, everywhere could participate.
We wanted, in the middle of the Christmas season, to give this proposal a special touch, and we achieved it thanks to a combination of lighting, design, and programming that allowed us to visualize in real time a feeling of happiness that users could share. How? Every time someone wrote the hashtag #happy on Twitter, a light was switched on in our shop window, forming an interactive, global, and cheerful chorus of lights.
Thus, in addition to creating this visual spectacle, we connected people, technology, and emotions, converting feelings of happiness into spontaneous Christmas lights.
